Dear ANDY,
I was Really saddened by the News of ALEX and the Thought of Him NOT being with You.
Nothing can Replace the Loyalty or the Love that Your Beloved Pet can bring. To this Day I still miss the Time that I have had with Sundance,Butch, & Buster. Their Spirit will always be with me. I have All of those GREAT Memories and They Never Die !
Andy. Your House will seem Empty for a While,But Time does Help.

I am sorry about the elevated protein. I had pre-eclampsia with both of my pregnancies. I had to stay in bed most of the babies gestation and had to deliver the baby as soon as the doctor thought they would be viable. But! I had two fantastic results, Will and Max. All of us are very healthy today.

That’s an interesting point Bob. Perhaps the smart move is to get past the “view” aspect and just get into the best “hotel” even if you can’t afford the best room in that hotel. Service is pretty important to my wife and I, and the thing we will complain about the most later if we don’t get it. It seems that the likelihood that we would be treated better at one of the upscale properties is dramatically better.

Checking prices quickly, there’s a 375 room at the Grand Wailea and a 485 at the Four Seasons – both cheaper than what we signed up for at Hilton Hawaiian Village.

We love Hawaii and visit frequently. All of the islands have a certain charm and unique things to see and do. As you point out, resort rates can be pricey, particularly the ocean-view rooms. After many stays in these more expensive rooms, it dawned on us that a room was just a place to sleep, store our stuff and freshen up. The majority of our time was spent outside of our room sightseeing, experiencing the island life, dining, using the hotel’s amenities, etc. We spent little time sitting on our lanai (terrace) enjoying the view. We stay in cheaper rooms now, using our budgeted bucks for doing special things outside our hotel room.

Thanks for reinforcing my thinking on Wailea. Glad to see I had a good read on it. There seems little question that if money isn’t a factor that one of those three resorts are definitely the place to stay. Negative personal reviews are few and far between, indeed.

This is actually my chief concern with the Hilton as the reviews are so mixed. Some think it’s paradise and some think it’s crap and it’s not always easy to figure out the difference from afar. I think that even if we don’t hit Maui this time, that it will definitely be something we plan for another time.

I work at one of said resorts in Maui and all I can say is that there is a reason all the top travel publications agree Wailea is the most desirable vacation area. Traveling over holidays such as Thanksgiving is always going to be expensive. You can find deals during Sept/Oct/early Nov. Research more and you’ll find The Grand Wailea has very discounted prices, The Four Seasons is top with consistent service standards, and the Fairmont Kea Lani is an all-suite hotel, so you’ll get more value for the money.

Have fun on your vacation and hopefully someday we’ll see you in Wailea and you can experience for yourself the serene ambiance, the incredibly beautiful landscape, delectable dining options, and how it feels to be treated like a celebrity.

I kind of didn’t have the words to write it.

I suppose I am optimistic, still, but it’s funny how quickly optimism can turn to sadness which is how this went for me over the last few weeks.

I turn the corner on difficult things more quickly than most though (much to my wife’s chagrin, I think) and this will work out for us.
